Now a Court has determined that every person that gets a license in California is automatically registered to vote. Why should an illegal alien get the special drivers license, as 800,000 have. Instead claim citizenship and you get a license and a vote.

Golden State Settles Suit Over Moter-Voter Rules

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) – Starting this April, the more than 1 million Californians who renew their driver’s licenses by mail each year will be able to register to vote using one form under the terms of a new settlement agreement.
The settlement reached Jan. 10 ends eight months of litigation over California’s alleged violations of the National Voting Rights Act of 1993.
The League of Women Voters and three other groups sued the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles and Secretary of State’s Office in May 2017, claiming the state burdens would-be voters by making them fill out the same information on two separate forms to register to vote.

“The League of Woman Voters of California lawsuit was settled last week in which the department agreed to continue implementing AB 1461 (The California New Motor Voter Program) according to our current schedule,” DMV spokeswoman Jessica Gonzalez said in an email.
According to the lawsuit filed last May, California ranks “a dismal 46th in the nation” in its rate of registered voters. More than 5.5 million eligible voters were unregistered as of February 2017, according to state data.
In August 2017, U.S. Magistrate Judge Laurel Beeler refused to dismiss the suit, finding the National Voting Rights Act forbids making driver’s license applicants fill out duplicate information to register to vote.
A representative for the League of Women Voters California did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment Wednesday afternoon.
Other plaintiffs in the lawsuit include the ACCE Institute, California Common Cause, and National Council of La Raza.

Very upset when I read this latest update of where my state’s protection of it’s own citizens and their ability to vote has been destroyed! Now I understand why I was treated like someone from another country by the DMV when I renewed by Commercial CDL in June – What a disaster! I am 66, born here, and as transparent as possible…Social security number has followed me along with my CDL (obtained at 15 1/2 yrs.) and fingerprints, plus background checks more than once by Dept. of Justice. Yet, when I received renewal (inside was form to sign up for voting – have voted in EVERY election because that was considered a “privilege” ) I was a bit upset. Then made made appt. with REAL birth certificate and papers filled out for renewal. I was married in college, then divorced and married 2nd time in 1983 when I took marriage license to DMV and had name changed on license and that’s what it’s read for past 34 yrs. But DMV said they couldn’t accept renewal since I had name change from birth certificate to license and needed copy of marriage due to new laws instigated by HOMELAND SECURITY! So, went home, retrieved marriage license, presented to DMV and they REFUSED 2nd time because marriage license name was different from birth certificate…That’s when I hit the roof – what happened to ALL MONEY SPENT on DMV computeer upgrades????? They said if I had no proof of divorce papers or 1st marriage license I needed to hire an attorney to renew my license….Went home, found old photo album buried under 35 yrs. of pictures and returned 3rd time and received renewal for 5 yrs. Oh, it didn’t stop there – 3 months later under Sheriff Department’s background check, although I had received a CDL card in mail, I am told I had NO CDL because I had surrendered my CDL….Again, I had to spend time, this time on phone, before I was told there was a mistake and it’s OK…..I wrote letters to my representatives I was so mad – no responses. No one was held accountable….But, you can be illegal and all’s well! This experience is what has got me involved in repealing the gas tax…….
Had the same problem with DMV. Moved from Pa. to Ca. 5years ago and had a valid Pa. license. Being a law-abiding citizen I turned in my Pa. permit and was told I needed a certified birth certificate [like the birth certificate had a photo on it] Had to send back to Pa. for a court copy of my birth certificate. 3 weeks to get the certificate
When rush Limbaugh came to CA in 1984 he remarked about the CA DMV in classic Rush speak. He said, the CA DMV proves that bureaucracy doesn’t work. They are infested with incompetent lazy people. I will give them credit for some measure of patience in dealing with such low-lifes the DMV attracts. But their SEIU union loves to hand out voter registrations ot the new demo-rats oops, illegals. This should be against the 1938 Hatch Act about unions doing political work on government time.

The licenses issued to illegals have a different format and different numbering system, and are prohibited by state law for being used for identification. There are strict identification requirements for people applying for standard driver licenses, including documents that an illegal alien cannot produce.
Don’t recognize California votes for any federal position.
