Colman: MOB RULE

A few years ago “flashmobs” were all the rage.  These were mostly singing groups that took over events, malls, parties and businesses without notice—for the purpose of singing.  Today the flash mobs is about looting, burning and bullying.  Sadly, law enforcement has allowed the violence to continue.  In Portland, the DA has released without charges more than 70% of those arrested for looting, violence and burning of public and private property.  In Minneapolis, it does not make sense to arrest these people—since the DA will release them anyway without charges or punishment.

On Oct, 19, 2020, KPIX-TV/Channel 5 in San Francisco reported that, “A free speech demonstration staged by conservative activists quickly fell apart in downtown San Francisco on Saturday [Oct. 17, 2020] after several hundred counter-protestors surged the area, outnumbering and attacking those gathered, including knocking one in the mouth.”

KPIX added:  “Three San Francisco Police officers were recovering from non-life-threatening injuries sustained when they were assaulted with pepper spray and caustic chemicals.”

Trained officers meant to protect the public are not allowed to do it because Neo-Bolshevik runs the town.  Feel safe in America?  Imagine how worse it would be if the openly corrupt Joe Biden was President and George Soros picked the Attorney General.

MOB RULE

By Richard Colman, Exclusive to the California Political News and Views,  10/23/20

Mob rule — possibly under the guise of what could be called radical democracy — is emerging in California.

In San Francisco, the local school board, on Oct. 20, 2020, voted to remove academic ability regarding admission to the city’s prestigious Lowell High School.

According to a news article in the San Francisco Chronicle (Oct. 20, 2020), “Lowell has for decades admitted students based on a score that takes into account grade-point average and test scores . . .”

The Chronicle article continued, saying “Lowell will admit students using a random lottery for next year’s freshman class, a decision made unanimously by the school board . . .” on Oct. 20, 2020.

The Mercury News, a Northern California newspaper that is part of the Bay Area News Group, reported, on Aug. 10, 2020, that, “The Contra Costa [County] District Attorney is now requiring that all prosecutors review all available body camera footage and seek supervisor approval before filing a charge of resisting or attacking police . . .”  Contra Costa County is about 20 to 30 miles east of San Francisco.

The reports mentioned above suggest that so-called radical forces are gaining control over the criminal-justice system and the schools.

While perhaps well-intentioned, these so-called radical forces are putting taxpayers in physical danger and attempting to take educational opportunities away from talented students.

Democracy demands adherence to the law — even if the law is unpopular.  Under a democratic system, elected individuals can be held accountable for their actions and be recalled from office — or voted out of office — if the electorate objects to policies these individuals support.

If California continues to be weak on fighting crime and to jeopardize the education of talented students, then residents of California might consider relocating to another state or nation.  Alternatively, these residents might mobilize and attempt to expel from office those elected officials who back so-called radical policies.  Another approach is for residents to take their children out of the public-school system and put these children into private or parochial schools.

The basis of a free society depends on all citizens agreeing to obey they law.  Failure to obey the law will result in the death of democracy and the appearance of totalitarian regimes such as those that now exist in North Korea, Russia, and Turkey.

To keep democracy alive, Americans must be constantly vigilant and resist any temptations that promote law-breaking or hinder — for talented students — scholastic success.

  1. The criminals have taken over the prison and threaten to spill into the city.

Mob and criminal rule and Democrats are stupid enough to vote for them.

Does anyone wonder why reasonable people are leaving?
