Santiago Cruz, Inmate Serving 125-Years-To-Life In Prison, Released Due To Coronavirus

Great news! An arsonist who made threats to rape and kill was given a 125 year to life sentence.  Gavin Newsom has decided that was not enough punishment—for the public.  So, this vicious criminals was released from prison after 23 years.  I guess Newsom failed his math class—that is only 16% of the sentence given him.

“Cruz has been in prison since 1997. In 1994, his marriage ended after he allegedly abused his spouse — both verbally and physically, according to the DA’s office. After the divorce was finalized, his ex-wife obtained a permanent restraining order against Cruz who allegedly continued to harass her, ultimately landing him back in prison on a parole violation.

After getting out of prison, Cruz reportedly terrorized his ex-wife’s new boyfriend and his children. In one instance, Cruz allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at the home where his ex-wife and two children were sleeping. Further, during one phone call to the boyfriend’s 18-year-old daughter, Cruz allegedly threatened to rape and kill her while her father watched, then kill him, the DA’s office stated.”

You read that right—he previously served in prison, got out and then got his 125 years to life sentence.  Feel safe?  If so, you are reading this outside of California.

Santiago Cruz, Inmate Serving 125-Years-To-Life In Prison, Released Due To Coronavirus

CBS,  8/2/20

WOODLAND (CBS13) – A California inmate who was serving a 125-year-to-life sentence for arson and making threats to rape and kill is being released from prison because of COVID-19.

The release of “Three Striker” Santiago Cruz of Sacramento is part of the CDCR’s efforts to reduce its inmate population to keep inmates safe from the deadly coronavirus, according to a statement from the Yolo County District Attorney’s office.

Since February 2020, CDCR has released approximately 10,000 inmates early.

Cruz has been in prison since 1997.

Further, during one phone call to the boyfriend’s 18-year-old daughter, Cruz allegedly threatened to rape and kill her while her father watched, then kill him, the DA’s office stated.

The jury convicted Cruz of three counts of criminal threats, attempted arson and arson. Since Cruz had been previously convicted of two prior strikes for robbery and armed robbery, he became a “Three Striker.” On October 23, 1997, the court sentenced Cruz to 125 years-to-life.

Cruz’s ex-wife told the D.A.’s office is opposed to the decision to release the felon.

“A dangerous person is being released into society again and it’s not fair to her, her family and society in general,” Cruz’s ex-wife told the D.A.’s office. She said she feels that she’s “now the one in prison.”

  1. Where are the vigilantes that we need? Why can’t there be a new club in town? Only requirement is no belief in God ant there appears to be plenty of that.

    • William Hicks says

I don’t know where the breaking point is but it’s only a matter of time before law will be in the hands of the public instead of the government. Individuals and groups will provide justice, as they see it, and anarchy will be our future.

      MIGHT WILL MAKE RIGHT

  2. When will the people understand?

You vote Marxist Socialists you get the decay of society.

  3. It’s not the virus (although the pandemic is a good excuse). It’s MONEY – the same reason Gov Moonbean and AG Harris turned so many criminals loose when the jails were crowded in order to obey the Judge’s ruling. The state didn’t want to send prisoners to other jails so they just turned them loose. And, how many illegals are part of the current criminal population that Newsome has released? Has crime increased? Depends on the definition of crime since the legislature keeps raising the bar….

  4. This was done by a judge who can be voted out–publicize his or her name. Why blame Newsom?

    • The Captive says

gruesome-newsome is not without guilt even though you are into extreme denial- he is indeed involved.

  5. This is not happening only in California. And this is on top of no bail releases immediately upon arrest.

What is wrong with this picture?

If you ask me the Commie Dems are doing this to add to the chaos we will all experience in November, when whichever way it turns out, there will be great discontent. Voter fraud, mail in ballots, George Soros buying up elections, ballot harvesting…There will likely be a civil war.

The Commie Dems are sure they will win this time and are coming out of the closet with all they believe in every day in broad daylight. It has gone pass Bernie now. It is the agenda of the HATE AMERICA crowd. Tell me it is not different when the COMMUNIST PARTY OF AMERICA CAME OUT TO ENDORSE JOE BIDEN TODAY.

Get ready folks, the chances are high for what has already been brewing with Antifa and other anarchist groups, add criminal running loose and gangs and you are on your way to Venezuela.

  6. Releasing violent prisoners is a favorite ploy of tyrants such as Mao,Castro,Hussine, etc. The populace must be punished for their contrary thought. The China virus is nothing more than a convenient smoke screen.
