See Which CA Cities Have Lost the Most Democrats and Republicans

This article is just for background information about the demographic trends in California.  One factor is the absolute lack for the past 6.5 years—and counting—of the California Republican Party not promoting voter registration.  Why register if the Party does not care?

“It’s no secret that the Republican Party is hemorrhaging voters in California. In all 300 of the state’s largest cities the percentage of Republicans has declined, according to the Sacramento Bee.

An increasing number of voters are declining to state a party preference at all. From 2009 to 2019, 1.8 million more people chose not to identify with one of the two major political parties — a growth of 64%.

Democrats have lost some voters too, but nowhere near the level experienced by Republicans.”

The good news is that volunteers without the help or support from Sacramento are doing localized voter registration.  It is a priority with the volunteers, if not for those paid to build the Party.

See Which CA Cities Have Lost the Most Democrats and Republicans

California City News, 07/23/2019

It’s no secret that the Republican party is hemorrhaging voters in California.

Democrats have lost some voters too, but nowhere near the level experienced by Republicans.

“The proportion of voters registered as Democrats dropped in about 210 of the state’s 300 largest cities,” the Bee reports. “All told, Democratic registration in those 300 cities dropped slightly, going from 45.7 percent of the electorate in 2009 to 44.5 percent of the electorate in 2019.”

The Democratic Party still managed to increase its voters by around 845,000 thanks to population growth and new registrations.

The Bee has now compiled lists that show which cities lost the most Republicans and Democrats.

Some highlights:

  • The largest percentage point drop in Republican voters occurred in the Inland Empire and Orange County, specifically Desert Hot Springs (-21); Cathedral City (-20); Rialto (-14); Palm Springs (-14); San Jacinto (-14); Coachella (-14); Lompoc (-13); Santa Ana (-13); Tustin (-13); and Anaheim (-13).
  • The largest percentage point drop in Democratic voters occurred in the cities of Calexico (-11); Inglewood (-10); Compton (-9); San Fernando (-9); Oakdale (-8); Lynwood (-8); Pittsburg (-8); San Pablo (-7); Vallejo (-7); and Tulare (-7).
  • Riverside County cities — Cathedral City, Palm Springs, and Desert Hot Springs — saw the largest increases in Democratic voters.
  • The largest increases in no party preference voters were in Lathrop (+16); Coachella (+15); Calexico (+15); Watsonville (+15); and Fresno (+15).

  1. Registration as a Republican? Why bother the numbers are in!

So goes the rhetoric of RINO’s those who do not want to take time out of their coffee and donuts. If 30% of those called Republicans would donate 3 hours a month in activism the numbers would change.

I talk with decline to state types and they say why should I register or take part, your party has given up.

  2. Why vote!!! The DImms have screwed with the motor voter law – last election ineligible people got absentee ballots! They have a majority in Sacrademento. If I can get my wife to agree we’re retiring out of this God forsaken state.

  3. We may reregister Republican someday once the Republican Party returns. We don’t know who these people are who call themselves Republicans. All we know is it’s a tiny tent.

  4. Ca republican and will continue making democrates life miserable in this state…Socialists NAZI demwits have given free healthcare to ILLEGAL MEXICAN SCUM.

  5. Conservatives all need to register as Republicans even if the party is lame, and even if Rhinos are ruining things. The Dems and media like to see low Republican registration numbers . . so don’t give the opposition what they want. And it’s self-defeating to register as an Independent since you’re sharing the tent with liberals.

  6. James Ricketts says

NewCentral Committee members and leadership – whose campaigns were funded by phony Republican Charles Munger – have driven out conservative Republicans who did most of the heavy lifting in registration drives. There’s damned few Republicans left in the Califoprnia Republican Party.

  7. Gotta Gedada Displace says

People aren’t stupid – MORE and MORE are realizing that the ONLY way to vote, that won’t later defraud you, that can’t be overturned by the courts – is WITH YOUR FEET !

  8. Many have stopped registering out of fear of retaliation in employment etc. That’s why my family did it.

  9. us citizen says

I talked to one of the head guys in my area. He said the National Republican party will not back anything in CA because they feel they are wasting their money. Well guess what guys!…..unless you back your candidate, you are screwing yourselves. That goes for the President too!
You are all pansy assed chicken shits who wont take a stand. Until you are done with this nonsense………you will continue to lose.
CA also needs a two party vote, not a top two. This is a bunch of crap. Talk about socialistic state!
