From The Foundry:
Barack Obama calls himself a “progressive” or “liberal,” and we should take him at his word. He had the distinction of being the most liberal member of the United States Senate when he ran for President in 2008. The title had been conferred by National Journal, an inside-the-Beltway watchdog that annually assigns Senators (and Congressmen) an ideological rank based on their votes on economic, social, and foreign policy issues.
But what does it mean anymore to be a liberal?
Charles R. Kesler reveals the answer in his latest First Principles Essay, “Barack Obama and the Crisis of Liberalism.”

Liberal used to be related to Liberty, but no longer. Liberalism is now associated with Socialism, which has given way to Progressivism which is the new term for what used to be called Communism.
And this is the new Democratic Party, the old democratic party does not exist anymore. It has been completely highjacked by the new Progressive (Communist) party. We are not completely there yet, not completely there according to Marx, and if Obama has his way with us we will never arrive to true Communism for once we are over the fiscal cliff we will find ourselves adrift in the New World Order where we will become a cog in the ‘new wheel of progress’ under the United Nations. The old Nationalism of the United States with our Declaration of Independence and Constitution will be gone as will our Freedoms as we used to have.
If this sounds like what you would like to have for your future, then by all means vote for Obama and we will be on the way to the dust bin.
For me I am going to vote for Romney and pray that we can stop before we go over the cliff so we will have the chance to reshape our country back to what our founders gave us.
This is our choice and I hope we make the choice ‘FREEDOM’ and we remain The United States of America.
