When you head down to the beach for a little fun this summer, county officials want you to know about some updated rules.
The Board of Supervisors this week agreed to lift an all-out ban on playing with footballs, other balls and Frisbees on the beach, according to a media statement released by the L.A. County Department of Beaches and Harbors.
The update means that beach-goers may toss balls and Frisbees with Lifeguard’s permission on beaches in Los Angeles County between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
They were voted in, they can vote them out or they deserve them. Stupid is as stupid does!
I guess I can understand this ban. It would be awful if someone was hurt by an errant football or frisbee, especially a small child. There’s a place for everything.
By that logic, we shouldn’t drive, because it would be awful if someone got hurt. We shouldn’t ever walk our dogs outside, because someone could get hurt. We shouldn’t let people skateboard, snowboard, because someone could get hurt. In fact, the next ban should be on swimming at the beach because someone could drown. And you shouldn’t be allowed to let your children be in the sun, because they could get sunburned. Your logic has very scary consequences. Live life!! Stop worrying about what might happen!!
We certainly shouldn’t allow scores to be kept in children’s sports activities either as that may cause them undue stress & they may not reach their full potential. Please give me a break!! I grew up on the beaches in this state and I can’t remember EVER getting hurt playing football, throwing a frisbee or rough-housing at the beach. These idiots are going to legislate us out of existence if we keep letting them get away with this silly cr*p!!

They won’t have to ban people, after everyone leaves, there won’t be any reason to even have lifeguards – except that the union won’t allow them to be fired.
So, we’ll have beautiful, barren beaches overseen by lifeguards who’ll never have to get their swimsuits wet, except when they shower at the end of another grueling day at work.
Banning the public is they’re intention. The envirol-mentals of the state’s loony lobby want the beaches dehumanized. We should deliberalize sacrackpimento starting with recalling brown. Make sure you sign for the recall brown campaign. If we can blow ovomit out we should be able to flush brown.
