A real life story about starting a busiess in California.
March 23–incorporated in Florida (someday we plan to move there)
March 27–tried to open a bank account in California, where we are headquartered
March 27–rejected by bank–need a “certificate”
April 10–paid Franchise Tax–$800 (Florida gets $138)
April 13–sent forms for certificate plus $20 for something, $70 for something else, and $8 for something else.
May 8–called Sec. of State to find out about certificate status. This is what I was told. “It will be about another two weeks as WE ARE JUST OPENING THE MAIL FOR MID-MARCH!”
May 23–Still no word. So, no employees, no purchaases and no business. But maybe we’ll get a high-speed railroad instead.
