California Bill Would Fine Stores $1,000 for Having Separate Boys and Girls Sections

If the Democrats have their way, girls will be buying there panties next to jock straps in the department store.  Based on this, dress shops and places like Victoria Secret will be forced to sell male clothing and sexy underwear for men as well—if boys and girls are no different, then men and women are no different.  We already have “genderless” bathrooms. Is this the end of male and female?  Looks like it.

“With all other problems in their state solved, California Assembly Members Evan Low (D–Cupertino) and Cristina Garcia (D–Los Angeles) have introduced a bill that would require all stores to have a unisex section for children’s clothing and products in the name of “inclusivity” or whatever.

“Brick-and-mortar shops would have to display the majority of their products and clothing aimed at children in one undivided, unisex area on the sales floor,” reports Reason. “They’d also be barred from putting up signage that would indicate whether a product was intended for a boy or girl.”

So little girls will be looking at their first bra’s next to boys looking for their jock straps.  Thin of another reason to move families out of California?

California Bill Would Fine Stores $1,000 for Having Separate Boys and Girls Sections

With all other problems in their state solved, California Assembly Members Evan Low (D–Cupertino) and Cristina Garcia (D–Los Angeles) have introduced a bill that would require all stores to have a unisex section for children’s clothing and products in the name of “inclusivity” or whatever.

“Brick-and-mortar shops would have to display the majority of their products and clothing aimed at children in one undivided, unisex area on the sales floor,” reports Reason. “They’d also be barred from putting up signage that would indicate whether a product was intended for a boy or girl.”

The bill doesn’t just target brick-and-mortar shops either. California-based retailers would also be required to include a page on their website that presents the aforementioned products in a gender-neutral way, with the section being titled “kids,” “unisex,” or “gender-neutral.”

Low introduced a similar bill last year, arguing that children must be “able to express themselves without bias,” but the bill was sidelined to prioritize COVID-related efforts.

As ridiculous as this idea is, what’s even more offensive is that stores that dare to keep dresses in a separate girls’ section would be subject to a $1,000 fine. The policy would only apply to stores with over 500 employees.

A 2017 Gallup survey estimates that only 4.5 percent of the American are LGBTetc, while a Williams Institute UCLA School of Law study estimated that a mere .6 percent of American adults identify as transgender.

Some stores, like Target, have voluntarily shifted toward gender-neutral sections.  Reason notes that “regulating how companies market their products online and in their stores could potentially raise First Amendment challenges.”

  1. Jim Coles says

Please, Dear Gaeia, (cq?) … turn Sacramento into a sink hole while the Assembly is in session …

  2. Really??? says

This is not a new concept. There was this same move in the radical 1960’s-’70’s. (it failed the reality of science)

What these idiots seem to forget there is a significant amount of “hard-wired” biological countering gender-neutral claims. e.g. The vast majority of females develop earlier, and significantly greater portions of the brain that enable reading compared to males.

This is noting more than forcing businesses to bend to a dictatorial government when thousands of years have proven it is stupid. But then again Stupid is as Stupid Does.

  3. The Captive says

Well you do know that women’s products are priced higher than mens–so in this case THE PRICE NEEDS TO BE THE SAME. Do you idiots get that?

    • Please document what “women’s products are priced higher than men’s”. I bet you can’t on any product where they are very similar; socks, underwear, t shirts, jeans and the like. Certainly there are “brand” name products where both men’s and women’s clothes are priced what the market will bear such as with jeans. It isn’t the place for the government to dictate this kind of things.

  4. What happened to freedom? The store owner should have his decision on how and where items are displayed for sale…If this offends “snowflakes” who know NOTHING about science, DNA, animals & agriculture, then let them order anything they desire ON LINE (sent in plain boxes so no one knows what they are purchasing) and leave the stores alone. Who elected these STUPID DEMOCRAPS to represent them? Remember, elections have consequences and it’s time to purge & recall before we become the most controlled, dumbest socialist state in the Union!

  5. Maybe they should consider mixing feminine hygiene products with Automotive parts to make the customer feel better that the store is being more “inclusive. Makes sense to me.

And to think people actually vote for these morons who will do nothing but make their lives worse.

  6. Every online labels its departments/categories. Boys, Girls, Men, Women – did we elect our “leaders” to fine them if they sell their categorized merchandise to Californians?

This sounds like restraint of trade to me. Oh, I forgot, our elected leaders LOVE restraining trade.

  7. And people wonder why everyone is moving to Texas or Florida. Today the governor of Texas lifted the mask ban and let the people decide what to do. Then we have pompous, pomaded Newsom. What a joke!

  8. Stores will lose more than the fine per day through lost sales. The choices will be comply and reduce the number of customers, ignore and pay the fine and try to pass the added costs to a smaller customer base or, close/ relocate laying off the work force and ending the tax revenues paid. This “idea” is yet another data point that proves democrats are tyrants and not very bright.

  9. There must be a contest going on somewhere to see who can come up with the dumbest, most useless law ever. Hopefully, in order not to lose sales, stores will figure a way around the Low/Garcia foolishness. Maybe group merchandise by gender-neutral shape: the shape of dolls, the shape of dresses, etc.

  10. Lady Cage-Barile says

STAND YOUR GROUNDS AND FIGHT. LET PEOPLE KNOW THIS IS HAPPENING. STOP BEING AFRAID OF CALLING THIS MENTAL
ILLNESS OUT, ESPECIALLY THOSE IN CA STATE LEGISLATORS.
