California students call to remove Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher busts

President Reagan and Prime Minister Thatcher were the leaders that brought down communism and totalitarianism.  Between them close to a billion people were freed from tyranny.  So it is no surprise that students at Moscow University, ur Chapman College hate these two freedoms fighters.

“”There are a handful of busts displayed around Chapman University’s campus that do not reflect the ideals of the University,” the petition reads. “In order to create a safer and more inclusive environment for Chapman’s marginalized students and community, we feel the busts of Ronald Reagan, Albert Schweitzer, Margaret Thatcher, Milton Friedman, and Ayn Rand need to be removed and replaced.”

“we feel the busts of Ronald Reagan, Albert Schweitzer, Margaret Thatcher, Milton Friedman, and Ayn Rand need to be removed and replaced.”

“During these times of reckoning with serious injustice in the U.S. we are asking for your support and for the Chapman Administration to hear our demands,” the petition continues. It goes on to include a letter that will be sent to the university’s administration “once this petition has been shared enough.”

Very clearly th4ese students missed their middle school and high school civics classes.  Ignorance is what got them into Chapman College.  This is a rebellion against freedom, the free market and the ability to think for yourself.  This is a sick attempt to wipe out history—by the illiterate.

California students call to remove Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher busts

  • A petition calls for Chapman University to remove busts of conservative icons.
  • Among the conservative leaders in their crosshairs are Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.

A petition at Chapman University calls for the removal of busts depicting Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and other prominent conservatives.

With more than 700 signatures, the petition demands that the university remove and replace the “problematic” conservative icon depictions.

“There are a handful of busts displayed around Chapman University’s campus that do not reflect the ideals of the University,” the petition reads. “In order to create a safer and more inclusive environment for Chapman’s marginalized students and community, we feel the busts of Ronald Reagan, Albert Schweitzer, Margaret Thatcher, Milton Friedman, and Ayn Rand need to be removed and replaced.”

“During these times of reckoning with serious injustice in the U.S. we are asking for your support and for the Chapman Administration to hear our demands,” the petition continues. It goes on to include a letter that will be sent to the university’s administration “once this petition has been shared enough.”

The letter states, in part, “While some believe the removal of busts and statues equates to erasing history and hiding past mistakes, we believe their removal provides opportunity for deeper understanding and engagement in history. We believe the removal provides not only a display of allyship but also a hopeful opportunity for educating students on the ways these historical figures abused their power to mistreat others.”

“[W]e hope this transforms into an opportunity to recognize our history and the ways certain historical figures have abused their power at the expense of marginalized groups,” the letter concludes.

The petition suggests replacing the current busts with busts of Angela Davis, Malcolm X, Harvey Milk, Nelson Mandela, Princess Diana, John Lewis, Cesar Chavez, James Baldwin, and Dolores Huerta.

Chapman College Republicans said in response to the petition, “This reckless removal of history is dangerous, especially for a University whose job is to educate in an attempt to better their students and their futures. For a school that has put so much effort in pushing for diversity, the removal of these statues would be proof that Chapman University takes no pride in intellectual diversity of their student body.”

Pointing out that “diversity comes in multiple forms,” including diversity of thought, the group said, “We conservatives do not push to remove parts of history that we do not like. we expect the same in return. When you remove history you cannot learn from it, you repeat people’s mistakes and we cannot better ourselves. There are many conservatives on campus who support the Republican Party and Ronald Reagan who feel they are unable to speak out about their beliefs in fear of being shunned by unaccepting members of the student body.”

Chapman College Republicans President Justin Buckner further told Campus Reform, “the main reason we felt it was necessary to speak out on this issue was that the petition claimed the statues on campus did not represent the ideals of the University, which is not true.”

“The removal of Ronald Reagan,” Buckner continued, “one of the most pronounced modern-day conservative voices in American history, would symbolize that anyone who believes in modern-day conservatism has no place on our campus. We want everyone to have representation and feel welcomed at Chapman University, regardless of your political beliefs.”

they just need to get through their sophomore year…..lose some baby fat

  2. Really??? says

Nope they will not lose that baby fat.

After all why give up power of Socialism. Why recognize success of two world leaders that brought their countries back from the brink of failure.

  3. William Hicks says

If they’re looking for a home for the Bust’s, they can send them to me. I will honor them. BUT, if I’m not an appropriate recipient of them, I’m sure that The Reagan Library will be a reasonable place to show them to the public.

  4. They do not know these people. They’ve not lived with them. They only know what their communist indoctrinators pushed down their throats in Junior High and High School. Mom and Dad weren’t paying enough attention to correct the educational mis-direction.

    • President Reagan could not know his own children’s generation would be the one witnessing the loss of freedom “only one generation away.” But I bet he guessed it could be so.

  5. It is time to stand up to the “cancel culture” a$$holes! Remember they are trying to destroy OUR history. They couldn’t care less and we should care less about them or THIER history.

  6. These far leftists or libtards demand the removal of these statues and will most likely demand they are replaced them with Hugo Chavez, Che Guevara, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Fidel Castro, Pol Pot, Kim Jong Sung / Il, and Xi Jinping. All of these people have used their powers to abuse and kill others with no opposition. Xi Jingping is the only person alive who continues to mistreat others yet these students never call him out for it. Mao killed more people than all World War II total combined dead yet he is revered in China despite all that. Hope these students learn to repeat the same mistakes from history and forever be burdened with the destruction they caused.

  7. The Captive says

I hate them and all of their stupidity for years. Now the shit is hitting the fan and it needs to fly back in their faces. These are anarchists without the ability to think. They need to be laid low and even injured so they can’t come back to inflict more pain on INNOCENT PEOPLE AND leave our HISTORY ALONE as well.
They are filthy as those who are the political nazi-islamists and totally without souls . May they be crushed one way or the other!

  8. They don’t even give a reason for removal of these busts. I mean Schweitzer? The man was a saint (and I say this as a Jew). Friedman was as well in his own way (and for their purposes thought universal icons a good idea). What are the thought crimes the others committed? I like how two of them are women. Although one woman is Jewish so she didn’t count since Jews are evil. I heard it from Lord Farrakhan. I thought classism head a conservative reputation. Why are these people even there?

  9. Rottweiler says

CANCEL THE CANCEL CULTURE, THEY SUCK AND SEND THEM TO MOSCOW, VENEZUELA, CUBA AND CHINA! Reagan always said “it only takes one generation to lose your freedom and liberty”! Boy was he right!

  10. My question is why is the administration allowing less than 10% of the students dictate what is done. Did they even check the signatures on the petition to see if they are all students

  11. Otis Needleman says

    These “students” are certifiably insane.

  12. It’s obvious these “students” are involved in useless high debt majors from a school that is known to produces plastic degrees.Chapman will probably cave, and after caving, will still be occupied by brainless, diaper rash kid’s handing out plastic “degrees”.

  13. I am calling Chapman U tomorrow and raising hell.I hope everyone on here will do the same and encourage their friends, family, and acquaintances to do the same. We MUST push back or we will lose. The morons are active; we are not.
