How does a society come under the boot of criminals and totalitarians? By taking guns away from honest citizens. Then, listening to folks like AOC, Schiff and Katie Porter, taking guns away from cops. Then, only criminals will have guns—would you feel safe? If you like that, go to Mexico and live under the drug cartels.

Poll: Two-Thirds of CA Adults Say Gun Control More Important than Gun Rights

AWR HAWKINS, Breitbart, 2/3/23
A survey released Wednesday by the Public Policy Institute of California shows two-thirds of California adults believe gun control is more important than gun rights.
The survey was conducted January 13-20, 2023, and 1,539 California adults were surveyed.
Question 65 of the survey asked, “What do you think is more important—[rotate] (1) to protect the right of Americans to own guns, [or] (2) to control gun ownership?”
The responses: 65 percent of respondents said it is more important “to control gun ownership” while 34 percent said it is more important “to protect the right of Americans to own guns.”
One percent of respondents did not know what they thought in response to the question.
Upon release of the PPIC survey, the Los Angeles Times noted Californians’ overwhelming support for gun laws “partially explains why gun control bills are proliferating in the new Legislature — some of them good, some goofy.”
The main gun control push in the state centers on concealed carry permit holders; on placing further restrictions on the age at which concealed carry is allowable and where concealed carry permit holders can carry guns for self defense.
On February 2, 2023, Breitbart News reported that Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) response to recent mass shootings in California was to rally behind Senate Bill 2, which targets concealed carry.
On June 5, 2022, Breitbart News observed that Mike Bloomberg-affiliated Everytown for Gun Safety ranked California number one for gun control while FBI data showed the state to be number one for “active shooter incidents.”
One of the main reasons I fled the state 5 years ago after living there most of my life (56 years).
Something smells fishy here. Surely a significant portion of the States Adults own guns. I don’t see how they get to this figure. Deeper Dive required.
I agree with Dustin. I know quite a few liberals. With few exceptions they own guns – for security reasons. I believe that number will increase as we loose control of law enforcement , military and criminals.
Just heard a poll over the weekend that found that even Hispanics and Blacks are now buying guns.
Soooo ????
What gives here with this article? Sometimes I wonder about the slant on CAPoliticalReview, which I consider to be conservative.
The Public Policy Institute of California, a left-leaning think tank, comes up with, guess what? A public policy the leftists would love to see enacted. Until the policy enforcers come for their own guns.
Read the truth and realize the headline is skewed, as usual, from someone trying to make a point. Don’t believe the headlines. According to the study: Majorities across partisan and demographic groups as well as regions say control is more important, with one exception: 78% of Republicans favor protecting gun ownership rights (compared to 34% of independents and 14% of Democrats). There is some variation across groups in levels of support for controlling ownership. Across regions, San Francisco Bay Area residents are the most likely (74%) and Central Valley residents are the least likely (52%) to say controlling ownership is more important (61% Inland Empire, 64% Orange/San Diego, 72% Los Angeles). There are also significant gender differences: women (70%) are more likely than men (59%) to favor gun ownership control. Across racial/ethnic groups, Asian Americans and Latinos (73% each) are much more likely to hold this view than are African Americans and whites (58% each). Note, the gun control wackos representing the highest percentages are in the most crime infested, Commie Democrat controlled areas of the state, and are basically drawn along party lines. Same ‘ol, same ‘ol.
